A hackathon is a weekend long event where projects are made from idea to prototype. At the end of the given time, projects are presented in a science fair setting—which, yes, includes prizes. The purpose of a hackathon is to have students learn development by creating a product while being provided resources like free-rentable hardware, tech workshops, and mentors. Hackathons are a space where road-blocks are eliminated, and students can learn new skills with ease.

Gather your friends, meet some peeps at opening, or attend our team-creation event right after opening ceremonies. No worries about knowing anyone beforehand; HackDFW is for creating new connections and new people from around the states. Maximum 4 people per team.

That is awesome! We are so glad you decided to be a part of the hacker community. HackDFW welcomes everyone of any major and any level as long as they have a passion for development! We will have workshops during the event, mentors to help you through any troubles, so no matter what skill levels, we will provide the resources to help you learn.

Unfortunately, high school students are not able to participate in Proof of Hack.

Bring yourself, some comfy clothes, toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.) and your hacking gear (laptop, hardware…and don’t forget the chargers!)

Head over to register.hackdfw.com to log in to your account and see your status!

Just like the best things in life, it’s free! The food is free, the swag is free, the prizes are free, and the fun is free!

Whether it’s walking, driving, boating, as long as you get here! Transportation is BYOT (bring your own transportation).

There is no travel reimbursements for Proof of Hack. But we encourage you to carpool or find a ride.
